Danny and I grew up the same neighborhood (he was the 3100 block of E 28th Street, I was in the 3100 block of E 27th Street) and attended the same elementary, junior high and high schools together. One day early in March 1969, I was waiting in one of the LA Airport terminals to catch a plane for Tucson. I had just flown down from the San Francisco area (Travis AFB) returning home from Vietnam wearing my khaki Army uniform. It was about 5 a.m. and the airport was mostly deserted. All of a sudden I see Danny Anderson walking through the terminal, also wearing his Army khakis. He too was returning for a fully paid year long vacation in Southeast Asia. I was always struck by such a chance encounter. Danny was a great guy and will be sorely missed at our Reuniion.....

Danny and I were friends during HS, I am saddened to hear of his passing, I was looking forward to seeing him at the reunion.
