Carol Ann"Mikey" Buros (Mattlin)

I want to thank all those involved with this website and the reunion.  I will not be at the reunion but I have enjoyed "catching up" with classmates that have posted messages and/or pictures.  I have been in New Zealand for nearly 40 years.  We did have a five year stint in Washington, D.C. which we enjoyed immensely.  Needless to say we love little old NZ.  It had less than 3 million people when we first came and has incresed in size by 50%.

Rob, my husband, has had the opportunity to do marine mammal research along the NZ cosastline and on a number of sub-antarctic islands.  These islands are protected with very few people allowed on them unless for research giving them a chance to regenerate.  They have the most wonderful array of birds and marine animals.  I spent a number of weeks on an island with Rob and a fellow researcher and it was magic.  I would  watch penquins doing their silly walk, seals either fighting or mating and sea birds doing what birds do.  The very best  were the wekas (fightless NZ birds) who are incredible cheeky.  They would come into the cabin and steal food off the table or even out of your hand.  It was Christmas so we strung popcorn and decorated the  keke (native bush) with it outside the cabin.  One particular weka spent hours trying to climb the keke as he seemed to have developed a particular taste for popcorn.  The only down side was we had to take a helicopter to and from the island.  I am not a great flyer at the best of times but expecially don't like flying with guys who love to do tricks and show off while I am in their charge.  Rob, of course, loved that bit.

We have two sons.  One living in Wellington and the other in Melbourne, Australia.  Since we have retired we moved to a six acre block at the top of the South Island.  We have about 70 nut and fruit trees and keep bees.  I must admit I love this life style even though it requires a lot of work.

If any of you are travelling through New Zealand I would love to meet you at the local village cafe for a 'çuppa'.  It would be great to catch up or maybe newly introduced ourselves to each other.   We are in the Nelson phone book under Mattlin.  The local village is a stunner on the Tasman Sea.

Thanks again for everyones' hard work.  I have really enjoyed it.

Linda Kay Bartch (Chamberlain)

I just want to say I have really enjoyed reading about all the classmates.  I was hoping to get back to see everyone. I have been in touch with a few friends because of this great site.  After loosing my husband about 1 1/2 years ago to cancer i found what a great place I live in.  The folks here in Texas are great. At this time I feel I need to be here for a friend going through a bad time.  I get back to Tucson as often as I can as my mom still Lives there and doing pretty good. Also my brother lives there about six months out of the year.

I hope maybe some pictures will get posted of the reunion. I was sure looking forward to catching up with everyone. Will be looking forward to the next one.

Linda, how great to hear from you....we used to hang out together....I have in my old scrapbook, little campaign signs I made for you when you were running for some office....I laughed when I saw them....I remember, too when your dad died.....Sorry about your husband...my husband died Jan 17 2012 of cancer also....I feel so alone now...we never had any kids.   My e mail is pswerner@cox.net if you  want to email me directly....I'd love to hear from you.  Sorry you won't be at the reunion!    Susie Schaeffer Werner

Congratulations and thanks to the reunion committee.  You've done a wonderful job planning the activities and website.  Thanks for all the very hard work.  It's been fun looking at old school pictures and finding out what classmates have been up to through the years.  My husband and I leave tomorrow for Tucson and look forward to seeing everyone at the Meet and Greet Friday night.

Jim Woolsey - Sorry, cannot make it to the reunion - had to go on a trip to Brazil

Greetings to the fabulous Tucson High Class of '64!

Wanted so much to be with all of you to recall old, good times together, but was called on a trip to Brazil which does not leave enough turnaround time to get to Tucson on time. Was looking forward to being with the Football Team at it's reunion, but will have to try another time, if there is one. Wish you all the best and may God bless each and every one.

Your 'ol friend and classmate,
Jim Woolsey

Paul Mann

Dear Organizers & “Brains” of our Marvelous Class Reunion after 50 years (WOW!),

Simple words, as powerful as they can be in expression & conveyance, can in no possible way, express our gratitude to you each and all did in making this lifetime event as successful as you managed!!  EACH, and EVERY phase of this entire weekend for those of us that were fortunate enough to attend, could not have gone any better than it did.

Just from your willingness, cooperation, and for all of the years that you so strategically sought out and planned by each one of you for every operation of our reunion, could not have been planned and executed better than it was - - KUDOS & BRAVO to EVERY SINGLE ONE of you with a whole lot of thanks!!

As a classmate coming in a wheelchair, you sure thought every phase of this operation beginning with our Website, searching out, notifying, following up everyone of us, in transportation at our school, making operations workable at the Hilton, our CD’s, gift coins, etc., . . . EVERYTHING, and assuring us that things would come off with “rocket-science” precision - - you each could no doubt get new jobs @ Cape Canaveral(aka Kennedy Space Center) site in Florida for your insightfulness!

In the Words of William Shakespeare, as Sebastian stated in Act 3, Scene 3 of TWELFTH NIGHT: “I can no other answer make but thanks, and thanks, and ever thanks.”

Warmly with gratitude,

   Paul & Lynn Mann

And Thank you!  Thank you for making this the best gathering we could have hoped for..  To paraphrase John Aboud's great words: "Afterall, it is you, each of you who traveled to get here and to all our class, thank you for making high school and this reunion the memorable experience we share."

Wasn't our era the best time ever?!

It was a joy to be there to see everyone.  I too will cherish this event always.   These past days were filled with good times and love brought by each attendee.  Again, I join Paul to thank you all.

Thanks to all who attended and supported our reunion--it was great seeing you all! Hope everyone had a wonderful time! We missed the ones who were unable to attend--some have suggested a repeat in 5 yrs and we even heard 2 yrs suggested--we shall see. Thanks to Susan Ripley for the terrific table  centerpiece decorations and Vince Berellez for the wonderful coins he donated and all who helped make this possible

Susan Roberta Ripley (Keippel)

You are so very welcome!   The centerpieces were really fun to put together as I had great support from my scrapbook group.   Now I thank you again for the lovely compliments from so many.  When I witnessed the talents and the devotion of our classmates in the dream of creating this event, I simply wanted to do something to try to compliment their intense and loving interests in gathering us all together.  The spirit of our Era was certainly there as well.  It seems that we all felt it.  There was so much love in this gathering that my heart just melted.

Each one of you did a terrific job.  There was much technology implemented; and I am greatly impressed with the skills of our peers to use it to be able to reach to the far ends of this world, finding as many of our classmates as there are of us!!!

It was really a fine event.   A Big Thank You to each one of you.

"Lord,  Bless Us Everyone."

Aloma Jane Barnes

Leave it to me! I sent my response/thank you-to-the-reunion-organizers to the "contact us."  So now I'll put it its proper place.

You guys put on a fantstic event! Kudoes and praise and hurrahs for a job well done!!!!

It was nice to see those I knew so long ago and to see that we have all aged gracefully, especially around the middle.  But the most important word there is that we have AGED ... so many did not. We have lived and loved and prospered and made the world a better place.  Health and peace to all of us.  Perhaps we'll meet again in 10 years - I MAY still be around in 50 years, but probably not all that mobile: but who knows!!!??

Thanks again for a wpnderful, wonderful gathering.

Aloma J. Barnes

WOWZA!!!  What a fantabulous reunion we had!!! :0  It was way better than I had ever expected & even more. I was soooo impressed at the amazing job the committee did in getting everything together...couldn't have gone any better than it did. To see everyone again was such a blast & special kudos to Marty Cohen who gave out many different pics he had taken way back then of several of our classmates, including me, & gave the 8X10's to us as a much cherished gift which we will enjoy for many yrs. to come.  Great FUN seeing everyone & getting caught up on everyones's lives. Thank you for making it possible to ALL those involved in the planning as you did a fantastic job!!! :D
