March, 2018-- John passed away late last week due to complications from kidney failure and a recent fall which resulted in a broken hip.  As per his wishes, he will be cremated, with a celebration of his life to be scheduled later this spring.  His lifelong involvement in youth sports and passion for officiating will be missed.  Superump1 is now in a better place.
